Favored Tech FT-4000 Makes Hard Coatings Easy
Las Vegas, NV, January 5, 2026 — Today at the Consumer Electronics Show, Favored Tech formally introduced its FT-4000 family of PECVD hard silicon coatings.
“FT-4000 represents a significant advancement in hard coating technology for consumer devices,” said James Zong, Founder, CEO, and President of Favored Tech. “FT-4000 elevates inexpensive materials to a new level of durability, delivering dramatic gains in abrasion and chemical resistance. Applied via Favored’s coating chamber, it is easy to deploy in mass production,” added Zong.
Abrasion resistance is essential to maintaining performance and reliability, as repeated contact, vibration, and handling can quickly degrade unprotected surfaces. Initially targeted at wearable and smartphone applications, FT-4000 has also demonstrated success in automotive, medical, tablet, and accessory markets. In addition to improving durability, FT-4000 helps preserve a device’s appearance and visual identity over its lifetime—reducing returns and improving customer satisfaction.
The FT-4000 PECVD coating process is environmentally friendly and meets current European environmental standards, with alignment to upcoming regulatory requirements.
FT-4000 can be rapidly qualified and implemented in mass production to improve reliability and customer satisfaction. It also supports cost-reduction strategies for new designs by enabling the use of lower-cost materials without compromising performance.

Experience the performance of FT-4000 in person at CES at the Venetian Expo, Booth #51359, and learn how it enables durable, cost-effective designs at mass-production scale.
